I have a homebrew component - TnlhTickList - works well most of the time but in one form I'm having to access the items property before they will display.

There are two of these components on the form, the items are different but the rest of the properties are the same. One behaves and the other doesn't. Its as if the dfm isn't loading fully. Is this possible? If so how do I track down the cause?

Any statement such as

junk := rFrequency.Items.Text;

or

showmessage(rFrequency.Items.Tex);

and things work hence my thought about the dfm not loading fully.

Where, exactly? And what happens instead of what you expect to happen?

No.

No.

That means that, as usual, its something I'm doing that I need to track down. Off to create a simple test bed.

Tracked it down. I needed to handle the cmfontchange event. STill don't know wht it affected one but not the other. Both had their fonts changed.
