Hi,

I'm just starting to use Interbase in my applications (2017 version) but am having an error using the FireDac connection manager.

When I test a connection (to the employee.gdb db) I get the following error:

[FireDac][Phy][IB]Unable to complete network request to host "127.0.0.1".
Failed to locate host machine.
Undefined service developer_ibxe7/tcp

I think it's the last line that is the problem, seeming to indicate Interbase XE7, which I had but removed when I installed Interbase 2017.

I have Interbase Server (gds_db) up and running and can use IBConsole to get into a couple of databases I created for testing.

Any thoughts?

(PS I've also posted this in the FireDac forum, just not sure where the error lies)

Hi

This is sorted now.

Environment variable IB_Protocol was set to 'developer_ibxe7', so I deleted it and all works fine now.
