I just installed Delphi XE8 Subscription Update 1. The Index tab for the local Help doesn't seem to include any of the classes. E.g., "tlist" is not there. The Search tab isn't that helpful either: It provides several pages, but not the System.Classes.TList page. However, if I find a link for System.Classes.TList on another page, e.g., "Working with Lists", then I can get to it. Any idea how to fix this?

I can confirm this. <sigh>

I don't know a solution, except using Google and the online docwiki
instead.

You can get to the rest of the Help from the Help menu in Delphi or by running the chm files in C:\Program Files\Embarcadero\Studio\16.0\Help\Doc\. For example, system.chm has the Help for TList.

Sure, and thanks for the hint, but it should be under F1 directly, and
in the index.

Embarcadero Support says, "After speak with R&D this behavior is expected. If you want to consult information regarding classes, you need to go to the specific help file. In future versions, this will be improved."

In other words: "sorry, but it doesn't work yet." They should never
have downgraded to the old .chm help system, IMO.

They should downgrade to the oldest .hlp which worked fine for many
years (and still works fine here integrated into IDE with 3-d party
plugin).

Modern versions of Windows do not have WinHelp pre-installed anymore.

Yes, but this is not a problem: we always can download and install .hlp
support from MS site.
