hello
im using mysql with firedac for my projects but now i need a portable database to use in one of my projects
someone recommended me to use embedded firebird...
but there are some problem for using the embedded one

i used this manual:
http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Firebird_embedded

but i have a basic problem :
how can i create and design the database at first? embedded firebird dont have any executable file to create dbs and tables ?!
when i have to connect to database i must put database name in connection (i understood for embedded we dont need ip/port)

Certainly a better question for the FireBird community ...

I would guess that at a minimum isql from FireBird could do this for
you. It certainly works with the embedded version of InterBase
(InterBase ToGo).

I created the DB first. I made certain that the tables were where I was going to put the executable. Then I tested and wrote the programs with the Firebird server running. Once everything worked, I I turned off the server and was able to run the executable.

Look at this article: http://edn.embarcadero.com/article/40520

I was surprised at how easy it was.
