Did some searches and tried the FreeAndNill(Application) and the .finish one too, but still the app shows up when I
check the phone for running apps. How do I completely terminate the app?

I did some playing around with different methods including using the exit and halt methods of the Runtime class. None
worked.

For me (Nexus 5X, Android 8), the app still appears in the list of windows, though apparently the app is not running
(i.e. using Monitor, it does not appear in the processes list).

I'm yet to find a way to make that disappear.
