C++ Builder 10.2/FireDAC.

Does anyone have thoughts on using regular versus data aware components in a Windows 10 program. I guess what I'm asking is what are some of your preferences when using these components.

Are there any advantages of one over the other?

Any thoughts, recommendations or links would be much appreciated.

I think it depends on the application. Local based data is almost always fine in dataaware controls, but networked is a different ballgame as when connection drops, data disappears from view too, but if you have manually set the values in for a TEdit then it stays visible.
On the downside, you have to write the display and edit functionailty yourself,

Yep, very good point. I don't mind writing the code it's pretty straightforward, but point taken. This project is a networked program with multiple clients.

Thank you for sharing Mark.
