Hello.

I spent hours looking for a solution.
I get this "Dbf has become corrupted the table will need to be repaired before using again" message when try to open DBF file with the help of Clipper. I was able to open the file with no trouble before.

Does anyone know what this message is or why it is occurring?

use DBU to open it.

don't open any index's

scan down the file to see if there are any records with obvious shite
data (characters < 32 etc), and delete those records if there are any.

Compact the database (removes deleted records)

open the index's and reindex the database.

see if your clipper prog can open the file

Check that you are using the right sort of index's (ntx vs idx)
