Delphi package projects marked as modified on load in RAD Studio 10.2

With RAD Studio 10.2 I have noticed that most of my Delphi package projects (if not all) are marked as modified when the project is loaded in the IDE regardless of whether any changes have actually been made. This can be seen for a new package project with these steps:

1. Start the IDE
2. Create a new Delphi package "File | New | Package - Delphi"
3. Save the project
4. Close all
5. Re-open the project

On my system, the "save all" button is enabled. If I close the project at this point the IDE will ask me to save the changes to the project. If I choose to save then the .dproj is written (not the .dpk) however there are no differences between the previously saved .dproj and the newly saved .dproj.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior?

I believe I get the same behavior. Did you find a way to prevent it?

The only solution I have so far is to use Berlin instead of Tokyo.

Same here. I followed the steps given by Clayton Arends. At Step 5 --
re-open the project -- close -- save the Package1.dproj file is
modified. There is a new "PropertyGroup" added:

<PropertyGroup Condition="('$(Platform)'=='Android' and
'$(Base)'=='true') or '$(Base_Android)'!=''">
<Base>true</Base>
<CfgParent>Base</CfgParent>
<Base_Android>true</Base_Android>
</PropertyGroup>

I think this is a bug and should be reported to

No. I think that Clayton Arends should report it; because he found it
and posted here.

I too have found it. I am using Starter Edition that is available free
of charge from Embarcadero.

The reason I got this is because I have quite a few DOS programs written
in Turbo/Borland Pascal and so my intention is to port them all to Win32
platform - initially as Console Applications and then in a few months
time convert them to full GUI versions.

I haven't found a good place to get hold of documentation and although
some Borland pascal code would work, I would prefer to have something
similar to that book called Turbo Pascal - The Complete Reference. this
book was the best I have ever used. I had it for version 4, 5.5, 6 and
7 but for Delphi not seen anything as good.
