Old Interbase .GDB file - how to get data?

Hi,

I am very new to Interbase and our client wants to export data from his 11 years old application that uses data in GDB file. I have tried to install Firebird and IBExpert but I am unable to connect to this database. Connection to Firebird example database works fine (using default sysdba/masterkey).

Do I need to know some user/password from this database to access data? Or logins are not in database and are part of the server? But how to connect to it and export data?

This is output from Firebird gstat:

Database header page information:
Flags 0
Checksum 12345
Generation 2949980
Page size 4096
ODS version 10.0
Oldest transaction 2949291
Oldest active 2949292
Oldest snapshot 2949292
Next transaction 2949293
Bumped transaction 1
Sequence number 0
Next attachment ID 29193
Implementation ID 16
Shadow count 0
Page buffers 0
Next header page 0
Database dialect 1
Creation date Jan 29, 2004 12:17:01

Variable header data:
Sweep interval: 0
END

Database file sequence:
File d:\data\Temp\TruckUnion\zamik32.gdb is the only file
Your user name and password are not defined. Ask your database administrator to set up a Firebird login.

Thank you for any help.

Firebird and InterBase are not the same engines anymore. You should ask this in
the Firebird forums.

Hi,

but my database is old Interbase so I think I am here right. I mentioned Firebird because I tried to create some environment to access this database with GUI client tool (IBExpert).

No its not, if you are using the Firebird database server to access an InterBase
database file, then you should be asking the Firebird people why their engine is
failing to do so. The file is immaterial, it is the server that matters here
and you are not using InterBase.
