Hi,

I have a simple test app (in it's simplest iteration it is just a blank form with a blue background) that I am running on a few IOS devices - running IOS 6 7 and 8. On the IOS 8 devices (an IPad 3 and an IPhone 6 plus) when I rotate from portrait to landscape the app doesn't resize to fill the whole available screen area, I end up instead with the screen left aligned and having about the same aspect ratio as it did in portrait mode, which leaves the right hand half just an empty black expanse. This doesn't seem to happen with the pre IOS 8 devices. I've tried building and running one of the sample apps (NativeCOntrolsDemo) that come with Delphi and this displays the same behaviour. I've tried messing with some of the form settings but nothing seems to make any difference.

Has anyone else come across this issue, know what I'm doing wrong?

TIA
Willie Juson

I forgot to mention I'm using XE8, no updates installed but I believe I applied the recent hotfix.

No, I haven't come across this issue.
I tried a one button app with blue background on my iPad mini IOS 8.4.
In all orientations the blue background fills up the screen.
XE8 Update 1. You have an example project?

Thanks for replying and checking with a basic app on your system. I've created a zip with just the source for my test project but I don't know how to add an attachment to a post in this forum?

I don't have Update1 installed - I'm not on subscription so I only received the hotfix pack (about a week ago I think it was). I'm sure I installed that, it said it installed successfully at the end however it installed very quickly. Perhaps this issue is fixed with update 1? I looked at the list of fixes and the only one I could see that might have been related was something about native controls not rendering on IOS64.

On the home root of this forum there is a forum called "Attachments". You can attach a zip file of the project there. I'd like to see it.

Thanks for that, I have done this with the same subject line.

I tried it. It worked fine like it is supposed to. (In Debug and Development mode)
Had to set the missing project images back to default and changed the provisioning profile to run it, but that shouldn't be the cause of anything.

Maybe you could download trial of Delphi XE8 that has Update 1 and see if that works.

Edit: It probably doesn't have to do with update 1 because I was using pre update 1 also and never saw this problem. You should try re-installing Delphi.

Thank you for trying that Douglas. Yes, I will start with a reinstall, if that doesn't work then I'll then try installing a demo XE8 onto a "clean" PC.

Thanks for responding Tom, I did see those 2 posts and although related I thought they were more about the initial orientation, and it seemed to come right for them after they rotated their devices, mine just stays "broken". Also I couldn't get to one of them, not sure what sort of member you need to be to get access to it?
