Guys, Hi, I'm new to this forum, and wanna say that I'm really impressed with XE8 so far as I couldn't say the same about the previous versions. So congratulations to the team.

Anyhow, the question is, are there any plans to update compiler to be based on clang 3.6?

Thank you
Josh Kelley

According to https://youtu.be/HjfFKNByDvY?t=3281, they were finishing a 3.3 update in October 2014, with 3.5 "on the horizon." That was eight months ago, and still no 3.3 update, so it's safe to say that they've been delayed. I haven't heard anything about 3.6.

The rush to get iOS 64bit into XE8 delayed any Clang developments. I do
know that work on Clang updates has resumed, but I don't know what version
of CLang they are working on at this point, or what version will get included
in future compiler releases.

The iOS 64 bit compiler is based off of CLANG 3.3.1, so I suspect the work is moving forward.
