Number is out of range - FMTBCD in CDS

Manually coping into a CDS which has been defined based on DB fieldDefs and hitting this error ... any hints to work around it the data firing it is actually effectively integer ie ( 6, 0 , (20, 32, 12, 0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0....))

Assign and cds.asString := db.asString both cause the error

a value of zero in another field (10,0, (0,0,0,0,0,0,.....)) works fine ?

problem was the DB field defn as precision was 0 and size was 34 ... ????????
