Why this forum can't normally work ?

Hi

I can not understand why this forum can not normally work, especially on
weekends when not operating normally. I think Enbarcadero is so big company
that can afford to hire someone to run it so that it worked without a
problem. I use a couple of forums and generally operate without major
problems. It makes a very bad impression.

I doubt it. I really really very much doubt it. The percentage of
buyers that actually use these forums (newsgroups) must be extremely
low, so most buyers won't ever notice a difference.

It's not just the forum that is down all the time. The registered users download section is down too, at least during the last 24 hours.

I wouldn't buy a product without proper forum support. Very bad taste.

The only logical conclusion one can draw is that the vast majority of
Delphi users are very very stupid. :)

At its peak less than 4% of the Delphi users accessed these newsgroups (back in
the Borland days). For years now, long before the problems popped up, that
number is < 1%. That is partially why getting resources dedicated to it is
difficult to convince higher ups to do, they don't see the return on their
investment.

I am locking this thread now. This has been discussed over and over and does no
good. Yes there are problems. Yes they are working on migrating to another DB
to alleviates those problems. Nothing new from several months ago when this
went on and on then.

Do you have some statistics ?

Of cource there are some statistics.

Look to the Web frontend:
https://forums.embarcadero.com/forum.jspa?forumID=67
e.g. this thread has 332 views and I think that the NNTP readers aren't
included in this number.

I completely agree. Although I totally dislike the community site forums, I find them more useful as they are up more often when I go looking.
