I have used some code to load email contacts into a string grid. The code starts with

OutlookObj := CreateOleObject('Outlook.Application');

and ends with

OutlookObj.Quit;

Everything runs, but if the user has Outlook open on their desktop, it closes it.

What is a better method of freeing up the instance that does not affect Outlook if it is running?

Thanks.

The solution was:

OutlookObj := Unassigned;
