Hi,

Does anyone know of a good sophisticated 3D graphics example that works in Firemonkey for XE6? I want to create the content programatically, making meshes and point clouds (x-y-z triples located randomly in space, such as you get with lidar scanners).

The code at http://edn.embarcadero.com/article/42007 would be a great start, but it fails for XE6. I can get it mostly running, but not the texture colors don't work, which is typical for a lot of the examples on the web, too many little gotchas when you try to recompile in the newer FireMonkeys.

I actually subscribe to this guy's Youtube channel and he has some cool videos covering 3D with FireMonkey. https://www.youtube.com/user/QuarkCube

As far as your specific question about point clouds I looked up lidar graphics and I see typical mesh/landscape type renderings and FireMonkey should be able to do this no problem. The other stuff I saw was voxel graphics which is a bit of a different rendering beast altogether. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voxel You may be able to do some voxel-type creation with FireMonkey though I haven't seen anybody do it yet

Thanks John.

The YouTube channel is very interesting. I have not found anything specific on 3D graphics, but I need to spend more time carefully going over all the videos, which have some nice tips.
