RTF, DOC and XLS to PDF ??

Never used Rave before, but have a need to convert files to PDF
and I understand there is a "Render 2 PDF" capability in Rave.

So, here is the problem ... I have an invoice (RTF format) and
several (zero to MANY) report files (DOC format) that should
accompany that invoice. Also, there is an XLS file which
should accompany the invoice.

Having said the above, is there a Rave component with
which I can do this?

In (several Files , RTF, DOC XLS) ---> Out (one PDF file)

Thank you in advance for any help,
Bob Watson

In short, no. Rave can render its own reports to PDF, but it is not a tool
for rendering other formats to PDF as well.

You could probably read in the other documents then write them back out as a
code-based Rave report in PDF format.

The component to add is TRvRenderPDF. It lets you choose the output as PDF.

I am using the TRvRenderPDF which is creating my PDF file however the file is blank. If i am doing an output using the RaveReport writer it creates an PDF file with output.

dmoYummies.RvPyummies.Open;
dmoYummies.RvPyummies.SelectReport('rptReciepts2', false);
dmoYummies.RvSYummies.DoNativeOutput := false;
dmoYummies.RvSYummies.RenderObject := dmoYummies.RvRenderPDF1;
dmoYummies.RvSYummies.OutputFileName := 'OutputFiles\'+ outputFile +'.pdf';
dmoYummies.RvSYummies.Execute ;

dmoyummies.RvPyummies.Close;

Why and how to solve this issue

I do all my printing using RVSystem. I add the RvRenderPDF. Then I execute - RVsystem1.Execute. That gives you the option of what to do

Print
Preview
File

With the option of what kind of file you want, in this case PDF. Choose File, pick PDF, put in the file name, then OK. That has has always created the PDF file. Try it.
