Hi All,

Most of the time, when I want to compile my project, I get this message [dcc32 Fatal Error] F2039 Could not create output file '.\Win32\Debug\Project1.exe'
I run RAD Studio (Delphi) Berlin.
Delphi starts with Administrator rights.
My application is 32 bits on Win 7 Ultimate 64 bits.

Any ideas?

Regards,
Peter

Most of the time, when I want to compile my project, I get this message [dcc32 Fatal Error] F2039 Could not create output file '.\Win32\Debug\Project1.exe'

Found the solution.
I deleted all the files in the Debug directory.

I'm having the same issue and I have to delete the .exe every time prior to building!

Just started to get the same error on very simple project. Can't find a resolution yet.

I had the same problem a few years ago (running Delphi XE on Windows 7 at the time).

In my case it was caused by Windows Search (SearchProtocolHost.exe) accessing the file.
Go to Control Panel -> Indexing Options
Uncheck the Drive containing the affected application.

I was having this problem intermittently. The .exe file was being held open by something and neither Delphi or I could delete it. I had to restart Windows.

Using Handle64, I found that it that MalwareBytes was grabbing it for some reason. Handle64 not only can find out who is holding a file open, but also can close a specific connection. So I use that.
