In our application we have recently changed to a pdf help format. Unfortunately, Adobe In-Design (the program we create our help document in) is adding some random digits to the end of our named destinations in our pdf help file. These digits will change based on each release of the help file so we want to be able to extract the named destinations from the pdf programmatically so we can have our application go to the right one in an automated way..

Long story short, does anyone know of an easy way to extract the list of named destinations from a pdf file programmatically in Delphi? Are there any type libraries for PDFs available like there are for MS Word, Excel, etc? I've seen 3rd party tools that can apparently do what I need to, but I'm a little lost on how to attempt this myself using Delphi.

Thanks!

Turns out it can't be done. You have to write a plug-in in C/C++ to be able to access the named destinations tree object. See the adobe acrobat sdk...
