I am using Seattle 10 to make my first Android app; a simple button click changes text of button and I can't get it to build. The message bar has four lines:

Checking Project Dependencies...
Compiling Test1.cbproj (Debug, Android)
[Exec Error] The command "PATH \bin;C:\Users\Public\Documents\Embarcadero......<and goes on and on ending with> f:\embarcadero\studio\17.0\lib\Android\Debug\fmx.dex.jar"
failed

I checked many of the items in the PATH listing to see if they existed and they were there. There is no other info coming from the IDE. Is there a limit to the length of the PATH string? I am using Windows 7 Professional.

This is obviously something that I didn't set up properly in the Project->Options but I can't figure out what and where. I can't figure out the right question to search for in the wiki.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Hobbie

More likely your system PATH is just too cluttered. Very common problem
with Embarcadero tools. Try reducing the clutter in the System Environment
settings.

Thanks Remy for the comments on PATH. However --

I am just now am able to get back to this problem. I took your advice and first edited out much of the PATH variables and still got the same error message.
I then went into the registry -- using Windows 7 and Seattle -- and completely deleted the contents of the PATH. Rebooted and brought up Seattle. A message during start up said that it was missing some elements of the PATH -- or words to that effect -- and did I want Seattle to add the needed variables. I clicked yes and then brought up the project and pressed F9 to compile and again got the same message: A popup compile window saying "Making: There are errors" and in the in the message section at the bottom:
"Compiling Test1.cbproj (Debug, Android)
[Exec Error] The command "PATH \bin;C:\Users\Public............................." and goes on with a long list of path variables that Seattle just got through creating.
Failed"

I am at a loss as to what to do. This is my first attempt at creating an android app and this is just a simple button that when pressed changes the caption on the button to "Hello"

I have successfully created several large programs in Seattle, ported others to Seattle from earlier versions of Builder with no problems. All were in C++ and for windows. The reason I upgraded to Seattle was for the the ability to create software for android devices.

Anybody have any hints?

Hobbie
