Hi - today my xe8 welcome page gets
"Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?"
twice every time I start it. How do I turn this off? It was not there yesterday...

Embarcadero webpage has changed. It seems to be a collateral issue. Marco Cantu has reported it.

Does it call back home or does it just load a web page?

I just ask my self these questions:

1. From where does it download the webpage, from home?
2. Does the webpage script allow you to download other things than HTML
code?
3. Does it check for software updates?

Not unusual, and can be disabled.

So the IDE loads a web page and checks for updates.

Is that all?

I wonder if anyone has made drop-in replacements for the welcome page.

It might be interesting to have a competition and see what people come

So, we already have one thread for political discussions cleverly named "Half of Embarcadero staff sacked?". Now this thread (masked as "welcome page security") is obviously becoming a place for music and entertainment. Maybe somebody could create a special sticky index thread with a directory which thread to use for various topics, and name it, say, "SQL Server for Embedded Linux vulnerability", so that everybody would know where to look ;-)

Ah, you're no Kraftwerk fan.

I understand that they may have been the grand fathers of techno,
electronic, dance, trance but I can't see no one exited when they are
playing in the video ;-)

You should have seen them in their concerts. In the eighties, they were
very lively and excited. These days, you don't even see them move. <g>

And yet, in their concerts, people are very excited. <g>

Rudy,

Thanks for that link.

Sometime around '73 I bought a compilation album (now long gone,
unfortunately) which had one or two Kraftwerk tracks.

I tried this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uv09NXOyOoU because
of the earlier date (1970)

Now I found the track I was looking for, Ruckzuck. It starts at around
17:30 on the video.
Now I just need to find if I can get it on CD.

Ruckzuck is hardcore. Even most Kraftwerk fans have problems with it,
as it is not electronic yet. It is very early work, and is probably
hard to get by.

Not at the same time! :-) My mother was a violin teacher, so I learned
that early on. Then I wanted to be in the band, so I switched to
trumpet. Soon I was more interested in sports so I quit them both.
Never was any good at sports! Played violin again for a while a few
years ago, but didn't have time for it, so I haven't played in about 10
years.

Oh -- I had this image in my mind, much like Bert in Mary Poppins, of
you playing the violin in one hand and the trumpet in the other. Wasn't
quite sure how you handled the bow and the keys... <G>

Working in the railway industry, I prefer "Trans-Europe Express". But "Schaufensterpuppen" from the same album are also worth listening.
