Finding it very limiting using web based access to these forums, and was looking for some recommendations on an NNTP newsreader that works with the new servers.
I used to use XNEWS, but it doesn't support SSL.
XANANEWS crashes on Windows 10 at start up.
What other options are there around these days ?
Thanks.

I use SeaMonkey, the "web + mail" suite from Mozilla.
Basically, it's Firefox + Thunderbird in one package.

I use Thunderbird, but MesNews is also very good:

Huh? I guess I'll have to ask on geldenhuys.co.uk. It should not crash
on Win 10, and it is my recommendation. By far the best NNTP
newsreader, IMO, and I have had (bought, if necessary) all of them,
including the others mentioned here.
FWIW, for SSL you can use STunnel. I have used it for many years.

OK, you are not the only one. It primarily seems to happen on systems
that upgraded from Win 8.1 or 7, and not so often on clean new installs
of Win 10.

I'm using XanaNews1.19.1.269 on Win 10, upgraded from Win 7. Runs
fine, with one exception. When I click Quick Get, it first says that
it can't load the SSL DLL, then when I click it again, it functions
normally.

That happens to me ever since I replaced my SSL libs w/ those that ship
with 1.20. I backed up my exe but not my ssl libs when moving from 1.19
to 1.20, so I didn't restore my SSL file.
It happens every time on start up, but clicking the lightning bolt in
XN gets past the problem.

XanaNews 1.20
At Win10 Pro (fresh install) I do not have any problem with the EMBA forums, BUT with other ones like the JCL, JVCL and from others it will not work
I can load the newsgroup list, I can subscribe the newsgroups but if I will get the messages several messages are loading and than it stops with the error "Pipeline out of sequence ..."
Any ideas to solve it?

My Thunderbird as news reader stopped working with Embarcadero
Discussion Forums. It took a wile to fix.
The solution was to switch to ssl in the configuration
AND !! using this advice
https://forums.embarcadero.com/thread.jspa?threadID=117291
now it is OK.

True. I hope they get XanaNews working reliably on Win10. It is IMO the
best newsreader there is.

Won't even connect to the server here, and the support group is in
French so I couldn't get very far with that.

Wow, it's so long ago it's hard for me to say. Maybe because of the
direct integration to the browser-interface for Embarcadero forums. I
think there were some other tweaks it had. Forensic mode could have
been a compelling feature as well.
I definitely liked Agent when I was using it.

one can either click it to open in browser or copy to paste elsewhere

XANANEWS crashes on Windows 10 at start up.
Just a quick follow-up. The Win10 issues was reported on the XanaNews support newsgroup too. Then a little while later the original poster replied to say everything is working again. Here is what he said:
Ran sfc /scannow on both PCs, and some errors were fixed - mand
Xananews is now running as before! Delighted.
Others have reported that hey had no issues upgrading to Win10 or installing from new and running XanaNews.

Graeme
