Debug and Release File Size Identical ???

Hi,

Using XE7 building a 32 bit VCL app on a Win7 64bit box.

I have a project that when I build a Debug I get "Blue Dots" and things debug fine. All is Well.

When I build a Release I do not get Blue Dots and I cannot debug, All is Well.

But in both cases the .exe file size is the same, about 16M. (It is a big app.) But I have other apps where Debug / Release files sizes are very different, I wonder if for some reason all the debug data is indeed in the "Release" version? How can I tell if so?

Any ideas what might be going on?

Thanks,
Bob K.

In the ones where the sizes are different you probably have the Linker option
for place debug information in a separate TDS file false and the ones where they
are the same it is true.

Hi, I finally got back to this size issue. Checking or not checking that Place Debug Information in a separate TDS file made no difference in the .exe file size it is 16.5MB. When the box is checked I do get a .tds file generated and that is 16.6MB.

I am controlling this in the Win32 Release Options for the project and doing a Release Build. Could something else be forcing debug info into the .exe files?

Thanks,
Bob K.
