I get this error when 'running' an app using an AdHoc profile in XE7. This error message is suppressed in XE6 but not XE7. The app will deploy to the MAC and an ipa is generated but the package will not load automatically. You have to load the ipa that is created in the scratch-dir on your MAC to the device manually (iTunes). This is not very convenient but it works.

In your case, go to the MAC finder to the directory /Users/amato/PAServer/scratch-dir/amato-ProfileNamePino/GestioneOrdini.ipa and drag this file to iTunes.

Thanks to John at Embarcadero for the support.

I had the same problem. Creating a new "Multi Device Application" in XE7 and adding my units to the new project fixed it for me.

Hint: Take a look at the "Console" application on OSX. This will give you better error messages.

Hi Sebastian

I am having the same error in Unable to install package e80088019
I have tried creating a new project and bring in all the related files.
No problem compiling and building (adhoc & app store).

However, when i tried to deploy the project, the .ipa file could not be created on the scratch-dir

Please advise on how to solve this problem

thanks
chris

This is a known change and is only AdHoc. The message and the behavior are only a nuisance and everything still works, just a little differently.

AdHoc is not meant to be "run" on device. You can build, then deploy to make your IPA file. Then use appropriate means for installing and distributing IPA like iTunes and/or iTunesConnect/TestFlight. Yes I know we used to do it with one button click but the bottom line is we do not currently. If one of you would like to enter a QC "feature request" and post it here, I will see what I can do for the future releases.

Personally I don't care which behavior either way. I just think we should absorb the error message and/or give a nicer one explaining the right way to do it. BTW, same applies when you try to "run" an AppStore targeted app except it is an e800801c error if I recall.

Hi John
It seems that when i compile and build my iOS application, the .ipa file is always found in the Debug or Release sub directory of the project.
Since this file is not copied to the scratch directory, the deployment of the file can never succeed.

Please verify if this is correct. Unless is there a way to redirect all the .ipa files to the scratch directory?

thanks
chris

Hi John
Sorry. I just found out the problem

It is that I had XE5 and XE7 in the system.
Hence there are PAServer and RADPAServer.
Now with XE7, the application is moved to PAServer instead of RADPAServer.

When i saw PAServer, i would go to RADPAServer as i was used to that directory. Din know XE7 would change to use PAServer.

Thanks
Chris

This is not a little change.. Now, I have to manually install my IPA to do testing.. It takes TONS of time to do.. So much for RAD in this case.. Before, just one button, and test it on the phone.. Now, go to PasServer, drag it to Itunes, install.. what a pain..You might be thinking, just use the devloper cert.. but then everytime you want to try a new device, you have to add it to the cert. Such a pain compared to using an Enterprise cert that works on everything.
But, I will use a developer cert.. Im sure that will launch ok Im betting

Having the same problem.. In My case

I have the Apple Enterprise license.. So I have a perm profile for ALL of my apps. I can run on any phone, and as many phones as I like.
In Xe6, I never tested in the simulator, always on an IPhone. I would treat it the same as an App store install, except that because I had an enterprise profile on the device, it would run the IPA file just fine on my phone, without using the store. Works slick.

If the the phone had the right profile (My enterprise profile) , I would click Run, and my app would complile, Deploy, then install on the phone over USB. In XE6, really, it was supposed to launch too, but it would install it to the phone.. Not perfect, but that was fine , I would just click on my app and test it. Worked like a champ..

Now, same exact code in XE7. compiles and deploys fine.. If I manually install using Xcode, app works perfect on my phone.. but XE7 WILL NOT install the app on the phone.. Instead, I get an error e8008019

Ive tried everything!

So weird.. Im totally setup with XE7, but stuck on this one point. I would love to work this out.. Please Help Embarcadero..

How many more times we will have these problem? Every time Apple has a new release?
